The PU VC will inaugurate the exhibition on Tuesday at 2 pm. Prof Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instruction, will preside over the function and Prof Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, will be the guest of honour.

Er Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (Hort), said the division was trying its best to make the exhibition more attractive than previous years. He said seven new varieties — Sonali, Sapna, Mushtak, Parveen, Mahatma, Dorris, Freshman, Alfred — are being displayed this year. These have been procured from places such as Calcutta and Solan, he says. About 4,200 pots of chrysanthemum will enhance the beauty of the garden. The plants have been grown by the Horticulture Division in its nursery to get the best results. — TNS
