An all-round performance by skipper Kashvee Gautam helped the UT girls team register a four-wicket win over Tripura in their opening match of Women’s Seniors ODI tournament played at Jhajjar today.

Tripura won the toss and decided to bat first. Kashvee scalped the top order and stopped the team from scoring big. Rajni Devi (3/24) aptly supported Kashvee (3/28), making breakthroughs in regular intervals which resulted in Tripura to bundle out for 149 in the 48th over. Nandini Sharma (2/30) also took two wickets.

Chandigarh had a dismal start with 37/3 on the board. Later, unbeaten Kashvee Gautam (64) and Aaradhana Bisht (40) steadied the innings to bring their team home. Chandigarh achieved the target in the 41st over at the loss of six wickets.
