City lads defeat Arunachal Pradesh

Chandigarh: In a low-scoring match, the city lads registered a seven-wicket win over Arunachal Pradesh, in their last encounter of Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy, at Gurunanak College Ground, Chennai, on Tuesday. Chandigarh ended their tournament campaign on 18 points, two below group leader Bihar, who qualified for the next round. Chandigarh bowlers restricted Arunachal Pradesh to 56/8 in 20 overs. Bipul Sharma claimed 3/5, Gaurav Gambhir took two wickets and Gurinder Singh, Jagjit Singh and Bhagmeder Singh one each. In reply, the city lads achieved the target in 8 overs by scoring 62/3. Arslan Khan (37) and Manan Vohra (11) were the major scorers for the side. TNS
