Vishal, Vani claim table tennis titles

Vishal of Tender Heart School, Sector 33, and Vani of DAV School, Sector 8, won the boys’ and girls’ U-15 titles, respectively, in the ongoing 34th Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championship for Sardar Gurmeet Singh Grewal Memorial Trophy, today.

Vishal won the boys’ title by registering a comeback (9-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-9) win over Siddharth Aggarwal. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Vishal defeated Nilesh (11-8, 11-9, 11-8) and Aggarwal overpowered Samkit Jain (11-9, 11-8, 11-8. Vani bagged the girls’ title by defeating Teetiksha (11-8, 9-11, 11-8, 11-8). In semis, she defeated Cherrish (11-8, 11-5, 8-11, 11-8) and Teetiksha ousted Sherill (11-4, 11-9, 11-8).
