The Finance and Contract Committee of the Municipal Corporation (MC) has accorded approval to various development agenda items, including construction of a jogging track at a park in Sector 24 at an estimated cost of Rs 10.31 lakh.

The meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Mayor Kuldeep Kumar and attended by MC Commissioner Amit Kumar and other members of the committee comprising Jaswinder Kaur, Maheshinder Singh Siddhu, Lakhbir Singh, Taruna Mehta and other senior officers of the MC.

The members discussed various other important agenda items in detail and accorded approval to the construction of an RCC toe wall along the windrow pad area at 300 tonnes per day (TPD) composting plant in Dadumajra at an estimated cost of Rs 15.40 lakh, arrangement for a programme on Chhat Puja at Indra Colony, Manimajra, at an estimated cost of Rs 7 lakh, proposal for the landscaping and construction of a toe wall for enclosing area after demolishing abandoned sulabh sauchalyas in Sector 25 at an estimated cost of Rs 17.33 lakh and construction of three public toilet blocks in three different green belts located in Palm Park, four-storey houses and Dadu Majra village at an estimated cost of Rs 49.77 lakh.

The committee members also enhanced the fee of advocates empanelled by the MC in district courts, labour court, permanent Lok Adalat, consumer forum and other lower courts from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 per case, including other expenses.
