A juvenile has been apprehended by the local police for vehicle thefts. He allegedly used to steal two-wheelers for joyrides and later abandon these in different parts of the city.

The police said the 15-year-old suspect, a Class VIII student, used to steal two-wheelers parked in the Sector 22 market.

“He used to steal the two-wheelers for joyrides and later abandon these on the roadside,” said a police official.

The police said two motorcycles that were stolen from the Sector 17 police station area had been recovered from him.

He was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to Juvenile Home.
