Top seed Atharva Sharma of Maharashtra registered a comeback win over local challenger Rakshit Dhankar to move ahead in the men’s pre-quarterfinals of the CLTA-AITA National Ranking Tennis Championship. Sharma faced a tough resistance from Dhankar in the first set before facing a 5-7 defeat. However, he improved in the next two sets by registering 6-4 6-1 win.

Punjab’s Sahajpreet Bajwa defeated Delhi’s Mayank Yadav 6-4 6-3, and Arnav Bishnoi easily overpowered Sarthak Gulati 6-2 6-3. Delhi’s Bikramjeet Chawla also moved ahead by logging 6-1 6-4 win over Vineeth Mutyala of Telangana, while Manipur’s Ashwajit Senjam ousted Haryana’s Upnishad Bhardwaj 7-5 6-3. Second seed Jagmeet Singh also moved into the next round by defeating Manjot Singh Ahuja 6-1 6-1.

In the women’s main draw, top seed Haryana’s Anjali Rathi easily advanced further by defeating Maharashtra’s Namira Diwan 6-1 6-0. Radhika Vasudev ousted Jigyasa Narsinghani 6-4 6-0, and Sanjitha Ramesh of Karnataka defeated Delhi’s Gurjot Bharaj 6-2 6-0. Ritu Rai of Uttar Pradesh outplayed Simran Bundela 6-2 7-5 and Ruma Ashutosh Gaikaiwari defeated Mili Pandit without conceding a single game.

Satakshika Sahayak defeated Hareni Elanchezhia, and Gamya Gupta ousted Hanshika Singh by identical scores of 6-2 6-2 each, while Mahika Khanna defeated Snigdha Patibandla 6-4 6-2. Shreya Pasricha of Uttar Pradesh also logged an easy 6-2 6-2 win over Delhi’s Samaira Malik, and Ishwari Anant Matere defeated Diya Tyagi 6-0 6-3.
