Coaching centres told to vacate basements

In the wake of the death of three students in the basement of a coaching institute in Delhi, the enforcement team of the UT Estate Office inspected prominent coaching institutes of Sector 34 today.
The basements of some of these institutes were being utilised as reading room or for other activities. The basements are not permitted for habitable use as per the building bylaws.
Officials of the Estate Office said such basements should not be used for habitable purpose and asked the institutes concerned to vacate these immediately. — TNS
