Cold weather conditions persist in Punjab, Haryana
There was no let-up in cold weather conditions in Punjab and Haryana on Monday with Amritsar recording the lowest minimum temperature of 4.7°C.
Among other places in Punjab, Ludhiana recorded a minimum temperature of 8.8°C, according to a meteorological department report.
Faridkot recorded a low of 5.3°C, Pathankot 5.6°C, Gurdaspur 6.5°C, Bathinda 6.8°C and Patiala 7.6°C.
In Haryana, the mercury settled at a low of 8.8°C.
Karnal recorded a minimum temperature of 6.5°C, Hisar and Sirsa 7.8°C, Bhiwani 8.5°C and Rohtak 11.2°C.
Chandigarh, the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a low of 8.3°C, a notch above normal.
