The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the SSP concerned to complete the verification of tenants and commercial vehicles used by residents in Shyam Nagar within six weeks. The order came while disposing of a petition filed by the Shyam Nagar Residents Welfare Association seeking police verification and increased patrolling for ensuring the safety and security of residents.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
