The Department of Defence Production under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence and Ordnance Factory, Chandigarh, (a unit of India Optel Ltd, a defence PSU) organised 2024 MSME Outreach Programme here today. The conclave provided an opportunity for stakeholders to network with experts to create an ecosystem in the country for producing high-quality indigenous systems, implementation of standards, policies and global best practices.

The event brought together key stakeholders from the defence industry, government, experts from industry, academia and other stakeholders to discuss and deliberate on critical issues facing the defence sector.

Dushant Kumar, Chief General Manager, Ordnance Factory Chandigarh, requested all stakeholders to have firm resolve and synergise towards self-reliance in high quality indigenous military systems.

During the conclave, participants had the opportunity to explore latest technologies, products and services showcased by leading companies in the defence sector.

The conclave had a panel discussion session on “Partnerships and Indigenization of Defence Technologies: Strategies for Building National Capabilities and Self Reliance”. Experts from industry, government agencies and user services gave their perspectives during the session.
