An international conference sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research was held at DAV College, Sector 10, here to discuss child labour among ragpickers. The hybrid-mode event themed “Universal human values for Viksit Bharat@2047” brought together academics and social workers.

Officiating principal welcomed attendees Dr RK Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Agarsen University, Baddi, who presided over the session, while Dr Sanjay Kaushik, Dean, College Development Council, Panjab University, was the chief guest.Keynote speakers Dr Naresh Bhardwaj and Dr Puran Singh highlighted challenges faced by child ragpickers. Dr Varinder Garg, OSD to the Union Health Minister, and Dr Pratibha Kumari gave closing remarks and Dr Sutapa Saryal extended the vote of thanks. —
