Rajya Sabha member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said today that Rahul Gandhi was unaware of farmers’ issues and was only doing a drama in Punjab through rallies.

He said Congress rallies in the state were only a political gimmick. Dhindsa was speaking at the inauguration of SAD (Democratic)’s main office in Sector 82, Mohali. He said he would seek time from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and would request him to roll back the recently introduced farmers’ laws.

He said the farm laws were against the sentiments of farmers and he would apprise the Prime Minister of it.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
