Constable among 13 held with over 2kg heroin in two cases

The STF has recovered 2.940 kg heroin in two cases.
In the first case, police arrested 11 suspects and recovered 1.940 kg heroin from them. Suspects identified as Navdeep Kaur, and Gurinder Singh, alias Sally, resident of Talwandi Bhai, Ferozepur, were arrested with 440 gm heroin and a car. A case was registered against them under the NDPS Act at STF police station, Sector 79 on July 17. During investigation, it has come to light that Navdeep got the contraband from Gagandeep and Sandeep of Phagwara. The duo was named in a case on July 20 and Gagandeep arrested with 1.5 kg heroin. It has come to light that Gurvinder Singh, Randeep Kaur, her husband Sohan Lal, Rajnish were also involved. They are currently in jail and were brought on production warrant.
Navdeep Kaur and Constable Gurmeet Singh, posted at Faridkot, said that they got the contraband from Gagandeep. Out of which they sold 30 gm heroin to Gulshan and Lovepreet Singh of Jalandhar. The duo was nominated in the case and arrested on July 24.
SP STF (Rupnagar Range) Akashdeep Singh Auluakh said, “Further investigation is likely to reveal the chain of those involved.”
In second case, on July 27, STF arrested Jalandhar residents Mohit Kumar and Bablu with 1 kg heroin from Sector 105. The duo used to bring the contraband from Delhi and Sonepat from an unknown person and sell it in the Tricity area. Cops said Mohit’s brother Deepak had sent them to get heroin. Deepak is absconding and has been named in the case.
