Longia, a SAD councillor from ward number 19, alleged that from the day a no-confidence motion was moved against her, the police had been tailing councillors supporting her. “They are threatening the councillors, have stationed vehicles outside their homes and issuing them threats of filing FIRs by going inside their homes,” she alleged.

Longia also released purported videos of incidents to support her claims.

On April 24, as many as 18 councillors moved a no-confidence motion against Longia to the Executive Officer of the civic body. The councillors have called for a meeting to elect the new president. At least 18 councillors are needed to pass the no-confidence motion in the 27-member House.
