Dewan filed the complaint under Section 156 (3) of the CrPC seeking the direction to the police to register a case against the ASI. Dewan argued before the court that despite giving the complaint to the SSP against the ASI, the police had not acted so far in the matter.

In the order, the court said to proceed further with the complaint, a status report from the SHO of the Sector 31 police station be called for June 8, 2021 regarding the alleged incident.
