Chandigarh on Wednesday recorded 81 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the tally to 1,751.

Of the 1,751 cases, 700 are active while 1,023 patients have been discharged after recovery.

The UT has reported 26 deaths so far. Eight patients were discharged after recovery today.

A 34-year-old man, resident of Sector 21, had allegedly committed suicide at home by hanging himself on August 10. He was sampled after his demise for COVID-19 at GMSH-16. He has been reported positive.

A total of 19,141 people have been tested so far.
