The Punjab Raj Bhavan came alive with celebrations today, hosting an event to mark the Foundation Day for both Rajasthan and Odisha. The occasion brought together several dignitaries, performers and sent out a message stressing on the significance of both states’ rich tapestry of history and culture.

The celebration commenced with tributes to Rajasthan’s remarkable journey since its foundation. A documentary film was screened that depicted both states’ historical milestones, cultural richness, and contributions to India’s progress.

A video message from the Governor of Odisha was also presented during the event, emphasising the state’s contributions to India’s cultural diversity and development.

The documentary not only highlighted Odisha’s historical milestones but also illustrated its journey as a state that harmoniously blends tradition with progress.

Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria expressed pride in Rajasthan’s illustrious heritage, which is marked by its majestic forts like Chittorgarh, Kumbhalgarh, and Mehrangarh, as well as its vibrant folk traditions such as Ghoomar dance and exquisite handicrafts. He also acknowledged Odisha’s classical dance form Odissi, vibrant festivals such as Rath Yatra, and exquisite handicrafts like Pattachitra paintings that showcase the state’s artistic legacy.
