City Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla today said, “Dasehra is a powerful reminder of the victory of righteousness, a principle that guides us in our work for the betterment of Chandigarh.” The Mayor, who participated Dasehra festivities at various sectors of the city, extended her warm greetings and shared the festive spirit with residents in Sector 24, Sector 27 and Sector 29.

Babla said, “It is truly heartening to witness the enthusiasm and devotion of the residents. The burning of the effigies of Ravana symbolises our collective resolution to overcome obstacles and work together to make our city cleaner, greener and prosperous.” The celebrations, which included the traditional burning of the Ravana effigies, cultural performances and community gatherings, were marked by large turnouts, reflecting the city’s enthusiastic participation in the festival.

Truth always prevails: Malhotra

City BJP president Jatinder Pal Malhotra has said Vijayadashami reminds us that no matter how difficult the circumstances may be, truth and righteousness always prevail. Malhotra, who attended various Dasehra events across Chandigarh as chief guest, said the festival inspires to remove negativity, injustice and ego and embrace goodness, truth and harmony.
