DAV School, Sector 8, won the boys’ U-17 interschool cricket tournament by registering a 71-run win over Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26.

After winning the toss, the Sector 26 skipper opted to field. The Sector 8 team posted 134/4 in allotted 15 overs with the help of Rupesh (57 off 23 balls) and Agamjot (41 off 36 balls). Kapish claimed two wickets for the bowling side, while Ashmit bagged one.

In reply, the Sector 26 team posted 63 before getting all out in 14 overs. Ranvir (28 off 17 balls) and Ashmit (5 off12 balls) remained the main scorers for the side. Kshitij and Sanchit bagged two wickets each for the bowling side.

Khushi, Kanishk shine in swimming

Khushi of Kids ‘R’ Kids School, Sector 42, and Kanishk Mann of Saupin’s School, Sector 32, won three medals each in the interschool swimming championship. Khushi bagged a gold medal each in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke events of the girls’ category.

Meanwhile, Mann won three gold medals in the boys’ 50 freestyle, 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle events. In the 50m freestyle event, Soham claimed the second position, followed by Chaitanya at third. In the 100m freestyle, Chaitanya and Gaivi claimed second and third position, respectively, while in the 200m freestyle event, Gaivi and Utkarsh claimed second and third position, respectively.

In the boys’ U-19 interschool chess tournament, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, recorded a 3-1 win over Gurukul Global School. St John’s School, Sector 26, defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, and KBDAV School, Sector 7, ousted DAV, Sector 15, by an identical margin of 3-1. Delhi Public School, Sector 40, defeated SGGSSS, Sector 35, 3-1.
