Days after threats by gangsters, gunshots fired at pharma firm owner's house in Panchkula

Two unidentified youth fired three gunshots outside a residence of an owner of a pharmaceutical company located in Sector 21 of Panchkula on Thursday evening. The youth were wearing a helmet and they soon fled the spot on a two-wheeler.

The incident is claimed to relate to threats issued to the owner by gangsters a few days ago.

Importantly, the incident took place a few hours after the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other BJP leaders for the new state Cabinet's oath-taking ceremony on Thursday.

The incident took place shortly after they had left the city.

The miscreants fired three rounds in the air outside the house and fled the spot.

According to the information, the businessman resident of Sector 21 runs a pharmaceutical company from Himachal Pradesh. He had recently been issued threats by gangster group of Lucky Patial, following which four policemen had been deployed to ensure security outside his house.

Neighbours said the policemen were present on security when the incident took place around 7.30 pm. The accused had fled the spot by the time the police personnel could react.

Panchkula ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj and a team from the district crime branch reached the spot and are investigating the scene.

The police are also looking into the footage of CCTV cameras that were installed outside the businessman's house.
