On September 26 last year, the joint committee had visited the Sukhna Choe and found untreated sewage being discharged into it at various points in Punjab and Haryana. Following the NGT’s order on October 4, the joint committee conducted a survey on December 5 and 6 to identify pollutant sources.

Various aspects of the report to be submitted to the NGT were discussed during the meeting. A discussion was also held on the measures to be taken to prevent pollution in the drain.
