A delivery boy died after his bike was hit by a car near Maya Garden on the Zirakpur-Ambala road here today.

The victim, Krishna, a resident of Sector 4, Panchkula, had gone to Zirakpur to deliver goods on his bike. As he was crossing the national highway, a speeding car, allegedly driven by Royal Estate resident Bimal Garg, hit his bike around 12 noon.

He was severely injured in the accident and was taken to the Dera Bassi subdivisional hospital. The doctors declared Krishna dead on arrival. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the hospital.

The police have registered a case on a complaint filed by Ranjit, a relative of the victim.
