Dense to very dense fog was observed at many places over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and at isolated pockets over Chandigarh, sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Tripura and north Odisha, said the IMD.

Moderate fog was observed at isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi (Safdurjung & Palam), north Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya.

IMD said fog engulfed many places, included Varanasi, Malda, Balasore, Paradip , Chandigarh, Baharaich, Lucknow, Sultanpur, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Purnea , Agartala, Patiala, Hissar, Gwalior, Gorakhpur, Chandbali, Kailashahar and Tezpur.
