Congress leader Udayvir Singh Dhillon, son of Dera Bassi Congress in-charge Deepinder Singh Dhillon, has been booked in the Mukandpur violence case on the charge of abetment and criminal conspiracy.

Udayvir was named in the FIR yesterday. After the incident on April 13, the police had booked 17 persons for attempt to murder, rioting and wrongful restraint and arrested eight of them.

The police produced six accused before the court after their three-day remand ended on Wednesday. The court sent three of them to judicial custody and extended the police remand of Honey Pandit and two others.

Dera Bassi SHO Mandeep Singh was suspended after the incident. Sumit Mor assumed charge yesterday. The clash between the supporters of AAP and the Congress over the alleged mining in Mukandpur village had left 11 people injured.
