The Council of Diploma Engineers from Punjab today threatened to stop the development works being carried out by various authorities and departments across Punjab if their demands were not fulfilled.

Members of the Council of Diploma Engineers from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana and Jammu&Kashmir had gathered at the Community Centre, Phase 7, and held a protest against the Sixth Punjab Pay Commission Report.

Heads of the council said they were working on a very low pay scale and demanded restoration of pay scale of 3.01, restoration of old pension scheme and implementation of cashless medical scheme.

They also demanded the restoration of the travel allowance and confirmation of the services of temporary employees. — TNS
