Dismissed DSP Gursher Sandhu seeks bail in Bishnoi jail interview case
The dismissed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Gursher Singh Sandhu, who has been accused in the alleged facilitation of a video interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi while in custody, has moved a bail application in Mohali District and Sessions court.
The case will be heard on January 13.
The Punjab government dismissed the DSP-rank officer from service on January 2.
The dismissal orders were issued by Secretary, Department of Home Affairs, Gurkirat Kirpal Singh. The state government invoked powers under Article 311 of the Constitution to dismiss Sandhu.
In March 2023, a news channel aired two interviews of Bishnoi from a jail.
