Renowned robotic surgeon Dr Peter C Lim, who has performed over 4,000 robot-aided surgeries worldwide, has honoured Dr Swapna Misra, Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, for performing the highest number of robotic surgeries in India.

Dr Misra, a leading robotic laparoscopic and cancer surgeon, has treated numerous women with complex gynaecological conditions using the advanced Da Vinci Xi system. Trained under Dr Lim in the USA, she is India’s only TR 500-trained robotic surgeon.

Praising Fortis Mohali’s robotic surgery programme, Dr Lim highlighted its success and the hospital’s acquisition of a second Da Vinci Xi robot. Dr Misra emphasised that robotic surgery had revolutionised gynaecological treatments, offering minimally invasive procedures with faster recovery.

Fortis management and senior doctors were present at the event.
