The Municipal Corporation has launched a drive to clean and beautify 566 back lanes in the city.

The building and road wing has launched this special campaign on the directions of Amit Kumar, Commissioner, MC.

He said these paved back lanes were undergoing beautification. Under the drive, the MC staff is cleaning the lanes by implementing the 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) method, improving lighting and repairing the damaged parts. The initiative is aimed at making these areas clean, tidy and aesthetically pleasing, said the Commissioner.

He said this campaign underscored the civic body's commitment to comprehensive cleanliness and focus on improving the quality of the life for residents.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
