Panchkula: The police demolished a property allegedly built from proceeds of drug trafficking at Ram Bagh Road slum in Kalka. The accused, Geeta, has three cases registered against her under charges of smuggling charas, ganja and heroin. During investigation, it was found that Geeta used profits from trade of narcotics to build a permanent house in the slum.

MC removes encroachments

Chandigarh: The MC on Friday carried out an anti-encroachment drive in Ram Darbar, Phase 1 and Phase 2. Enforcement teams, along with cops, acted against unauthorised vendors and temporary structures illegally occupying public spaces. A total of 113 challans were issued during the campaign which saw removal of carts, tents, tables, and fruit crates.
