In a late night development, a team of the Election Commission of India, along with police officials, visited Mohali Mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu’s house, who is the younger brother of Congress candidate from Mohali Balbir Singh Sidhu in Sector 78.

The lights of the house were switched off and police personnel were deployed outside the house.

Mohali Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi said, “A team of poll commission visited the house after somebody made a complaint.” No proscribed substance or campaign material was recovered from his house. No official commented on the development. —
