A joint meeting with officials concerned and representatives of the teachers’ delegation is set to be scheduled soon to address key issues. The teachers’ association had recently submitted a detailed representation outlining crucial concerns, including delayed Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) promotions, pending release of applicable allowances, implementation of a one-year probation period, PhD degree increments and the counting of past service.

Dr Meenakshi Rathore, president, CACTA, expressed optimism about the positive response, while stating, “We appreciate the Education Secretary’s prompt assurance for a joint meeting. We remain hopeful that this initiative will lead to long-awaited resolutions and improve working conditions for aided college teachers in Chandigarh.”
