Eighth seed Rhea Arora struggled hard to defeat Vaishnavi Singh 7-6(4) 7-5 before clearing the women’s singles final qualifying round on the second day of the CLTA-AITA National Ranking Championship Tennis Tournament for Women.

Third seed Saysha Taneja moved into the main draw by registering 6-4 6-3 win over 11th seed Harni Parthiban, and fourth seed Anu Moar registered an identical win over Ranjhana Sangram.

Anandita Sharma stunned fifth seed Shrawasti Kundilya 6-1 6-0, while sixth seed Suryanshi Shekhawat defeated Jayani Jeebu without conceding a single game 6-0 6-0. Seventh seed Priyanka Deepak Rodriks had to get her act together at the right time before defeating Sherry Sharma 6-4 4-6 10-8 and eighth seed Reet Arora ousted Priyanshi Katial 6-4 6-4.

The main draw matches will start on July 14.
