A 62-year-old man died after his scooter was hit by a speeding luxury car near Diplast Chowk here around 10 am today. The victim, Jaswant Singh, a resident of Green Enclave, Balongi, ran a workshop in Shahimajra.

He was rushed to Phase 6 hospital from where he was shifted to the GMCH-32. However, the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A case has been registered against the absconding car driver.
