Election observer for the Municipal Council (MC) elections Vimmi Bhullar along with Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer Amrit Kaur Gill held a meeting with representatives of various political parties and directed them to ensure adherence to the code of conduct. “If anyone has any grievance regarding the election, he/she can contact her on her mobile No. 90410-37171. Besides, complaints can also be lodged at the email ID vimmibhullar@yahoo.co.in,” said Vimmi.

Amrit Kaur assured representatives of political parties that elections would be held in a free and fair manner and action would be taken against those violating the code of conduct.

Any kind of rigging or malpractice in elections would not be tolerated and strict action would be initiated against violators, she added.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
