To improve women’s health, reduce maternal deaths, promote hospital deliveries and ensure timely registration of eligible mothers, the Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, in partnership with the Health Department, has started a special enrolment drive under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

The department urged all eligible pregnant and lactating women to come forward and register under the scheme at their nearest anganwadi centre or health care facility without delay. Timely registration is essential to receive the entitled financial benefits and nutrition support aimed at safeguarding maternal and child health.

Daily enrolment camps will be held at the GMSH-16, the GMCH-32, civil hospitals in Sectors 22 and 45, and Manimajra, till July 31.
