Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mandip Singh Brar has instructed the three SDMs to ensure strict adherence to Covid protocol in their respective zones.

The instructions were issued during a meeting with SDMs in the presence of ADC KPS Mahi regarding the new guidelines on Covid in the city.

The DC directed that the incident commanders should ensure that people wear a face mask and maintain social distance. He ordered that strict action against shops owners that violate standard operating procedures (SoP) should be taken.

Further, a committee has been formed to inquire into the complaints made by patients or affected persons with regard to overcharging by medical practitioners, private hospitals and clinics in Chandigarh.

The committee will consist of the SDM concerned, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Senior Medical Officer and Drug Inspector. The SDMs have been asked to take appropriate action against the defaulters.

The DC said the pending court cases in SDM offices would be expedited to keep the work on track.

The SDMs were also asked to keep a watch over unauthorised constructions through their enforcement teams.
