The Punjab and Haryana High Court has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Nayagaon Executive Officer Ravneet Singh in a public interest litigation (PIL) regarding the repair work of drainage lines from Khuda Ali Sher to Nayagaon.

The court ordered the officer to pay the fine from his own pocket and deposit the amount at PGI for the welfare of patients.

Acting on a PIL filed by an advocate regarding the collapse of drainage lines on the road from Khudda Ali Sher to Nayagaon, the court noted that the EO did not get the work done and only completed it after repeated reminders from the court. EO Ravneet Singh was also fined Rs 10,000 earlier this week in a contempt of court case.
