Former senator Subhash Sharma has written to Education Minister Darmendra Pradhan against Panjab University’s decision of denying additional seats to single girl child, including rural and border areas students, in two departments

“The arbitrary decision of Punjab University to deny quota to single girl child, rural areas and border areas for 2021- 2022 is totally unacceptable and unfair,” said Dr Sharma.

The Senate had given approval for these seats after deliberating that children from remote and border areas should get a chance to get education. The decision was taken in 2015-2016,” said Dr Sharma. — TNS
