The operation was aimed at curbing illegal activities related to Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and ensuring strict compliance with excise laws. The inspection drive covered liquor vends located at Daddumajra, Sector 10, Sector 24, Sector 29, Sector 35, Mauli Jagran and Manimajra.

During the course of the inspection, approximately 15,000 bottles of IMFL were seized. The seized stock is suspected to have been in violation of the Excise Act, and initial investigations point towards irregularities such as unaccounted stock, improper documentation and potential diversion of liquor.

A senior official of the department stated, "Today's inspections are part of a larger, ongoing effort to clamp down on illegal liquor operations and protect public health and revenue."

Further inquiries are underway and appropriate action will be taken against all those found in violation of the law.
