The local Meteorological Department has forecast light rain in the city from June 15 to 19.

According to the forecast, thunderstorm/lightning, accompanied by gusty winds, is also expected during this period. The maximum temperature is likely to fall by 2 to 3°C during the next three days. No major change is expected thereafter in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

The maximum temperature in the city today was 42.9°C, four degrees above normal, while the minimum was 29°C, also four degrees above normal. Due to rain, the maximum temperature is gradually expected to fall to 34°C by June 19.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
