Expedite works to end traffic chaos: Mohali DC to officials

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain today conducted a review meeting of the Traffic Decongestion Committee and asked all stakeholders to expedite works so as to provide relief to commuters from chaos on roads.

The DC asked Mohali SDM Damandeep Kaur to keep in touch with her UT counterpart to complete the work to widen Gurdwara Shri Sanjha Sahib road. The work is hampering the completion of Sector 48/65 to Dara Studio stretch.

She directed the ADC (UD) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal and Zirakpur executive officer Ashok Kumar to prepare an acquisition plan for the completion of Bawa White House to Zirakpur-Patiala (NH 64) highway. About 20.64 acres have to be acquired to complete the stretch. She urged the Railways’ Senior Assistant Divisional Engineer Vijay, who was present at the meeting, to assist in resolving issues concerning his department. Officials were urged to materialise the proposal for removing steep curve near Gurdwara Mata Sunder Kaur Sahib to complete the PR-7 road .
