Mohali, November 24

The Mohali Industries Association (MIA) today appealed to the Kisan Sangharsh Committee to lift dharna from railway tracks so that goods trains can resume operations.

Addressing the media here, Rajeev Gupta, General Secretary, MIA, said Punjab was going through an economic crisis due to the shortage of raw material and non-movement of goods trains due to which production had come to a standstill. Exporters were facing a huge challenge because finished product was loaded on goods trains and stranded on tracks.

Gupta said the state had resumed its industrial operations after the lockdown and it was difficult for MSMEs to meet day-to-day expenses.

He said the industry stands beside the Kisan Sangharsh Committee and its demands.

“We stand united and appeal to the state and the Centre to resume rail operations so that the state can continue its production,” said Gupta.
