Local fencer Mohit Bhatt, a student of GGDSD College, Sector 32, has brought laurels to the city by winning the bronze medal in the Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championship held in New Zealand recently. Taking training from Charanjeet Kaur, he bagged the third position in the epee event.

He has represented the city in many nationals and won an individual gold medal in the epee event during the UT State Facing Championship. He claimed fifth position in the Junior National Fencing Championship and was selected for the Commonwealth Championship.

He is the first male fencer from Chandigarh to win a bronze medal in the Junior Commonwealth Championship.
