Fifth seed Roman Kharlamov stunned second seed Kerem Yilmaz with a straight sets 7-5 6-1 verdict to march into the boys’ semifinals at the ongoing J200 Chandigarh ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors Tournament organised by Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) in Sector 10.

Top seed Korea’s Donghyun Hwang also marched into the next round by defeating Croatian contender Emanuel Ivanisevic 6-3 7-5, while Erasyl Bakhtiyar of Kazakhstan outplayed Alexey Shibaev 6-1 6-3. Ruslan Kastsiukevich also marched into the next round by overpowering a tough challenge by Artem Bogomolov 6-4 2-6 6-1.

In the girls’ quarterfinals, Daria Koreshkova blanked Japan’s Miku Kitaoka 6-2 6-4, and Masa Jankovic of Serbia outplayed Albina Kakenova 6-2 6-4. Indian challenger Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi recorded a comeback 2-6 6-2 6-4 win over Sushkova Antonina and Polina Kuharenko defeated Yuka Naito 6-1 7-5. The singles semifinals and doubles final matches will be played on Friday.
