According to a fireman, the fire broke out about 8:45 pm. The blaze took petrol pump staff as well as customers by surprise and the fuel station was closed as a precautionary measure, said an official.

At the time of filing this report, four fire tenders had already been pressed in to douse the fire. Sources said the fire erupted from the waste dumped on the backside of the petrol pump. However, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. — TNS
