A first cycle track constructed by the Mohali Municipal Corporation was inaugurated by Mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu here today. This track stretches from Old Spice Chowk to Airport Road to Cheema Light Point. The track has been built at a cost of Rs 80 lakh. It took three years to complete the project which was started in 2022.

Soon, cycle tracks will be built soon by the Municipal Corporation at other places in the city as well.

With the construction of this track, a long-standing demand of residents has also been fulfilled. This track has been built keeping in mind the protection of the environment and the convenience of cyclists.

Mayor Sidhu said, “The work of building cycle tracks will also be started soon at places marked by the corporation. In neighbouring Chandigarh, the cycle track network is over 200 kilometres.”
