A local court has sentenced Bharat, Gurdev, Anil Kumar, Pardeep Kumar and Rahul, all residents of Mauli Complex, here to life imprisonment in a four-year-old murder case. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each convict.
The case was registered on April 16, 2021, on a complaint filed by the victim’s father. He reported around 15 days back, his son Amit borrowed a scooter from Bharat. It got damaged in an accident. His son gave Rs 1,500 to Bharat for the damages, but he demanded more. On April 16, Bharat, along with his friends Rahul, Gurdev and Pardeep, visited his home. As Amit was not at home, they returned. He saw Bharat carrying a knife.

After sometime, a person from his colony told him that Amit was stabbed by Bharat. He was taken to Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula, where doctors declared him brought dead.
