Fogging drive intensified in Chandigarh sectors, villages on periphery

To ensure public health and safety ahead of the monsoon season, the Municipal Corporation (MC) has launched an intensified fogging campaign to prevent the spread of vector-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria.

Following the directions of Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar, fogging teams were mobilised across various areas of the city today.

The campaign, meanwhile, aimed at eliminating all mosquito breeding grounds, covered a wide range of locations including residential colonies, urban neighborhoods, and peripheral villages. The civic body teams used specialised fogging equipment and insecticides to target areas prone to stagnant water accumulation—a known breeding site for mosquitoes.

The Municipal Commissioner further emphasised the importance of proactive measures and urged citizens to cooperate with the teams by keeping their surroundings clean and avoiding water stagnation.
