To commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, Punjab Raj Bhavan organised a Shabad Kirtan at the Guru Nanak Dev Auditorium here today.

Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, along with the Sangat, listened to the hymns and distributed langar. Earlier, he paid glowing tributes to the Guru, remembering his unparalleled sacrifice to protect religious freedom and human dignity. He urged citizens to follow the path shown by the Guru, who sacrificed his life to safeguard the rights of the oppressed in 1675.

“Guru Ji’s teachings of fearlessness, compassion and righteousness will forever inspire generations,” he added.

On the occasion, siropas were presented to Kataria, Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla, Home Secretary Mandeep Singh Brar, Finance Secretary Diprava Lakra and Additional Solicitor General Satya Pal Jain.
